PASSION RADIO UK
Listen Live 24 Hours a day
I have true love for music been connected to playing music from a very early age spinning tunes in my uncle`s parties or should I say blues dance. I believe music is the catalyst of love, inspiration and togetherness. I believe radio is one of the most powerful media, It offers the listener a connection through music, banter, update on what’s happening internationally, nationally and locally.
Honestly i could not say what is my favourite genre of music I grew listening to Stax, Atlantic, Motown, Blue Beat Ska, Rock, steady, Jazz, Blues and of course reggae and soca. If I had to choose one artist that truly inspired me it would have to be undoubtedly Curtis Mayfield a complete artist writer of great songs a social commentator, innovator and an artist who could touch your soul with his music. I also love the music and message of Bob Marley and the Wailers. There is no greater calypsonian than King Shorty.
Earth Rocker days were special times because it taught me about the bigger family friendship and community, I was the main mic man for many years cutting dub plates for the sound. I learnt so much from Burky, Mods and the late great Andy Greaves truly wonderful times.
To all Passion family worldwide I say blessed love.
(Familia super omnia) Family over everything
Catch me every Sunday 11-2PM
Music is my Passion. I grew up with music in the house. My mother was more of an Ken Boothe kinda gyal. My father played every kind of dub, studio one, clash, reggae and ragga. Music was life and having two sounds and singers in the extended family; I guess looking back now, it was only a matter of time before I would be playing the music, I had been collecting all my life.
When I arrived in Huddersfield 20 years ago, I was listening to Love100. I saw Beenie Man, Scare Dem Crew and many more. Huddersfield was the lick! In 2012 I returned to Huddersfield and discovered Passion. It is with complete happiness that I hail up the Passion Radio veteran 45, who then discovered me. I never thought I would be a DJ but here I am!
Catch me every Sunday 5-7pm for the best in reggae & lovers & Also every Monday night 8-10pm for the best in rare groves.
DJ 2 BAD
Hello welcome to Passion Radio – DJ 2 Bad here! If you are reading this BIO it pretty much means we have something in common. ‘BEAUTIFUL MUSIC’. From an early age of Funk, Motown, Disco, 80’s RAP, Classic Soul, Afro beats, RnB and many other genre’s too many to mention. We are drawn to a religion called music. It brings us all together in a special unique way. Watching YO MTV Raps on TV with vivid music videos expressing emotion, history and fashion we followed, we shake, and we move. This adventure started after graduating from UNI in Computer Science investing in my first laptop then tinkering with downloaded tracks of all kinds. Later that year I found myself playing tunes with a huge database of bangers for a large crowd at my cousin’s birthday party whilst travelling down the Thames River in London. After that, it exploded.
For the next 20 years I observed and watched the best DJ’s spinning tracks hypnotizing crowds. From the 80’s of DJ Jazzy Jeff and Grand-Master Flash who were the pinnacle of musical mixing to present day DJs I have taken the opportunity to establish events such as Soul4Redemption, joining the Passion Radio family, playing every Thursday 6pm till 8pm and playing at popular nightclub venues all over the UK, from London, Leeds, Manchester, York, Huddersfield.
In my spare time I love travelling, movies such as comedy, sci-fi + action and adventure movies (but who doesn’t). Meeting fans, extending my social media circle of friends on Mix cloud, Facebook (Djustoobad) and Instagram (toobadjus) interacting with all the listeners. Let’s keep the music flowing and a massive thank-you for the most amazing support.
Stay blessed, focused, positive and lock in!
Catch me every Thursday 6-8pm for the very best in afro beats

BIG BIG 45
My love of music started around the age of 16yrs when I used to ‘MC/Toast‘ for a local black club named ‘Black Star’. This is where I really began to hone my DJ skills that have enabled me to become a well-known DJ talent locally, regionally and nationally. My repertoire varies from small scale local dances and events to larger prestigious ones. I am often hired to play at weddings, christenings, parties, local & regional carnivals as well as funeral receptions. Although my passion and expertise is and has always been for music of ‘black’ origin (particularly Soca), I am often booked for mainstream/non-black events and occasions as I can diversify musically.
I have a very ‘conscious’ and ‘black liberation’ philosophy and therefore volunteer my services at community events across West Yorkshire when ‘liberation’ speakers are being hosted. In addition, I have played at local Kwanzaa celebrations (an African inspired cultural celebration). To this end I use my platform as a DJ on this radio station whenever possible to impart knowledge on black issues and /or invite a range of speakers on who have valuable information to share. Most recently I have relaunched my Sunday evening show: The Big Big 45 Experience with DJ LP, within which you can find valuable insights and alternative thoughts on social events as they transpire. We also run a popular brain teaser segment that encourages community participation.
A firm believer in giving back to the community, I have involved myself in various charitable endeavours. On several occasions over the years I have offered my services free of charge for fundraising dances (eg sickle cell anaemia, epilepsy etc). I have raised money in particular for causes in my native homeland of Carriacou over the years too. However, my most treasured accomplishment to date was the founding of the Black Men’s Cycling Group better known as ‘Cycle of Life’ whose main aim is to improve the physical and mental well-being of local Black Men as well as raise awareness of Prostate Cancer. Since we started cycling in August 2013, we have raised almost £6000 for the cause.
Join me every Sunday 7pm-9pm

Brought up on RnB, Hip hop, Reggae, Dancehall and UKG he has a taste for good music and infuses all of these styles well to entertain crowds of all sizes. Over the past 15 years I have been involved in different aspects of music including djing in clubs, radio and private functions, offering people a broad range of music from classics to current Anthems.

DJ COUNTRY MAN
Hi my name is DJ Countryman – been playing music from 1989.
This year I celebrated my 29th Year in the music industry
First radio station was Laser RADIO after I took redundancy from work and 4 weeks in America.
1990 I took over the running of a station called POWER RADIO with another colleague – which later changed name to POW WAH Radio which was run by a consortium of fellow business and sound men.
I think it lasted 2 years, but it was fun. At my peak times I was out every day djing except Wednesday and had a full-time job.
I then moved to UNITY RADIO which lasted a few years but during that time I took a year out to study and get some papers behind me.
Finally, in 1998 I was approached to Join sting dem.
I Joined Passion Radio in 2015 and my show is every Monday 7-9am & Saturday 6-9am
I am proud to announce that I was the winner in historic event “the revival cup clash 2018 which was held in London”
Greetings and Love to one and all!!! Hail the most Mighty of Creation!!!!!
My love for music began as a child, my father would often play his trojan selections at night on the gram, by the age of 8 years old I went to my first session in 1978, a great experience to hear the sound pounding away in the darkness. as people skanked in air full of aroma.
By 1984 I was well into Soundsystem with a little local set called People Choice from Dalton, we carried the boxes on our shoulders to and from the session none of us could drive at the time, but we were keen to play out, with good support from locals peers basically the surrounding schools. I moved from Dalton back to Fartown in 1983, around this time started moving with the Children of Israel sound youths who became the 3rd and 4th arguably the 5th generation of Earth Rocker International where I would say I learned about sounds system. From moving boxes, I graduated to mic selecting even operating the sound, I would drive van, even arrange and cut specials, deal with repairs, I got involved in every aspect of running the sound even holding the door on a few occasions, more for a laugh than anything else.
I played the sound for a couple of decades, and happy to have helped the sound win two gold cups before taking a good long break around 1999. Now I am ready again to play music, which I on the Radio but I will also be playing with my sound system “Roots Tradition Round Beat”.
My final words in this brief biography is to say that music is an elevating force and most powerful, therefore I play roots reggae music as my preference, for the upliftment of all down pressed people, in the hope of spreading love, hope and consciousness amongst all those who listen to I and I word sounds.
More power and strength, peace and prosperity in all your doings, oneness Itection, I Majesty Selassie Hail H.I.M

My love of music started in the late 80s when I used to troll the radio airwaves for the latest musical vibe, reggae music, hip hop, r n b, house music, basically anything with a vibe. Back in them days you got a weekly fix from the national stations but that was usually for two hours. I needed more than that and soon found local pirate radio stations, and from the first listen I was hooked. The vibe on these pirate stations where raw undiluted and infectious. Sound system culture was also taking hold of me and was regularly at Huddersfield’s all famous Silver Sands aka Venn Street where you could see a host of top sounds.
I started buying vinyl weekly ..hip hop, house, reggae music all the tunes I loved just for my personal pleasure. I soon built up a collection over time and this is really when my dj career started.
